An antique steel sole bench smoothing plane presented in clean used condition.
Complete with a good length graduated Issac Sorby cutter paired with a brass fitted back iron.

This example has plenty of evidence of use with wear and tear and repair over its life. One of the wings has been tacked down, the steel on the heel is damage, likely from tapping to set the iron with incorrect steel hammer.

Has usage marks commensurate to it's considerable age.

Given its age and wear, sharpened it is a capable plane, pleasing in use and making easy shavings on oak board.
