A vintage Moseley & Son London beech round moulding plane presented in clean used condition.

The heel has a faint 7 impression as well as previous owners mark. 

Toe impressed with Moseley & Son London mark.

Fitted with a good working length cutter approximately 7/16”. 

Has usage marks commensurate to its considerable age.

Old hollow & round plane makers used differing standards to size their planes. 

Some used a numbering system that more or less followed a set numbering standard across 60 degrees of an arc, others used a numbering system of their own choosing, whilst others still marked their planes based on the cutter size.

In addition, even within same makers, it has been observed that the sizing standards changed over different periods of time.
