Vintage Record No. 5 Bench Smoothing Plane

A vintage Record No 5 bench plane presented in clean used condition.

Fitted with an original a Record crucible tungsten steel cutter with a good working length remaining & a Record back iron.

Plane has features that date it to 1945 to early 1950s such as plain lateral lever, rounded edge brass depth nut, early type cutter.

Has been one of my own user planes - set up as Jack plane with slightly rounded cutter.

Has usage & oxidisation marks to commensurate to its considerable age.

Over all a good user plane making easy shavings on exotic hardwood board as shown.
