Antique 7½" Coffin Smoothing  Plane 2” I Sorby Sheffield Cutter

Circa estimated late 1800s to early 1900s 

An antique 7½" wooden coffin smoothing plane with an I Sorby 2" iron, presented in clean authentic condition. 

The I Sorby Mr Punch iron is paired with a matching I Sorby brass fitted back iron.

The plane has a lovely aged appearance with  usage & wear marks commensurate to its considerable age. Has a fairly wide mouth so likely sole has been flattened at some point.

Note - believe the wedge has had a historic repair along crack down its length as residual glue detected, however feels secure.
